Welcome to PAWFirst!

We believe that Sunflower is a Chihuahua/Pomeranian mix. She came from a house where there were many other dogs and cats, so she was not socialized very well, and like many Chihuahuas, is skiddish. All of the other dogs that were with her at Animal Control had rotting teeth, were old and going blind. Her eyes seem to be good, but her teeth do need to be cleaned, so she needs to go to a home where someone won't mind spending a few dollars on cleaning her teeth.

Once she gets to know you all she does is follow you around. She is over weight, she weighs 10 lbs when she should weigh more around 5-7 lbs at the most. She needs to be put on a good diet and get a lot of exercise to help her lose her weight. Sunflower is crate trained, but we are not sure yet if she is housetrained because we haven't had her long enough to let her settle in and become familiar with our routines.

She is ok with other dogs and cats, but as with most Chihuahuas, she would rather be the only one getting all the attention, but she will be ok in a home with one or two other animals.

Sunflower is heartworm negative, parasite free, up to date on her shots, and she appears to have already been spayed.

We will be only accepting applications for Sunflower, just to make sure she gets the best home that she can get. Since she is a Chihuahua, and we don't know much about her background, she needs to go to a home with kids at least over the age of 5. Sunflower's adoption fee is $100.
