Saving one animal will not change the world, but for that one animal the world will change forever.

I'VE BEEN ADOPTED! Dec. 21, 07
We have learned that because Romeo does tend to snap, he needs a special home with someone who is familiar with the breed and is willing to work with him in his adjustment time. He has adjusted in his foster home well, he does not bite any people or dogs. He does sound mean with his growl when he plays, but he rarely gets mean.
We believe with the right person he will adjust gradually to a new home, only with patience and love. He is really attached to the 17 year old girl in the foster home, so maybe he would get attached to a young adult female a little easier. Do you have the patience and the time to save this beautiful boy?
UPDATE 9/14/07:
Romeo has been neutered, so he's ready for his new home.Romeo we have learned needs to be in a home without young children, and he may do best being an only pet in the house. Please only apply for him if you have experience with Westies or have researched them and understand their nature. Here's a good place to look OK Westie Rescue.
Romeo is a handsome West Highland Terrier. We do think that he is purebred, but he was a stray, so we do not know for sure. Romeo is around 1 1/2 years old.
Romeo seems to be housetrained, but has been seen 'marking his territory' a couple of times.
Romeo is up to date on shots, tested negative for heartworms, but has not yet been neutered. He weighs about 16 pounds. Currently, we are only taking applications on him in order to find the best home for him.
Because we want to find only the best home for him, his adoption fee is $100.
Please call to make an appointment to see him, or look for our next Adopt A Pet date on our Petfinder home page.
Pets For Life Rescue has decided as a group not to ship our pets, the prospective owners must be able to come see the pets in person. There is also an application to be approved.
