May 12,2009. Journey has found his forever family. He now resides happily in Chicago. Crazy huh?? They absolutely adore him !!
~ Hope is like the sun, which, as we journey toward it, casts the shadow of our burden behind us. ~
Update: March 2009 A generous family has donated the cost of Journey's medical care. He is caught up on ALL his shots/puppy boosters, neutered, and now parasite free. His adoption fee has been reduced to $50 to an application-approved home..
Journey's a black, smooth coated pup. estimated to be around 4-5 months old . As with many 'black dog' pictures, they just do NOT do him justice. We believe that he is an Australian Kelpie (maybe a little mixed). His ears are tall enough where they will sometimes flop over. (so cute!)
Update: Journey is all ready to go to his new home. His wounds have healed and his spirit is shining. Please keep in mind that he is 100% puppy so he will require alot of attention and love. He would benefit from daily walks to burn off some of that puppy energy. On his walks, he is just mesmerized by all the wonderful things around him. We sometimes will take him out in the front yard to play. He enjoys that too, but keeps his eye on you to make sure you are 'still there'. He is a master of the 'sit' command.
. He will probably be a medium sized dog and will need his home to be indoors. He is crate-trained and and housetrained on a schedule.
Please call to make an appointment to see him, or look for our next Adopt A Pet date on our Petfinder home page.
Pets For Life Rescue has decided as a group not to ship our pets, the prospective owners must be able to come see the pets in person.
Please follow this link to our Adoption Application .
No puppy should ever have to endure what this little guy did. He has basically had to fend for himself for weeks. A nice lady noticed this puppy on her doorstep one morning and gave us a call. She said she had to go to work but that it may be there when she got home because it looked homeless. He was eager to greet her when she came home. The porch of her house had given him the shelter he needed. Since she works way too many hours to provide a good home for a puppy, we took him into Pets For Life Rescue.
Nobody knows how this puppy was surviving. We do know that he is resilient, super sweet, and very deserving of a second chance..
